Festival of Biodiveristy
Festival of Biodiversity is an event that is held annually by National Parks Board together with other organisations. I visited this event so as to have a clearer idea of how such exhibitions are being organised. In particular, how do these different organisations display their posters and exhibits, the type of colours they use. By visiting the Festival of Biodiversity, it gave me some ideas on my project.
Visit to Acres
On 7 May 2019, Myra and I met up with Ms Edwina Lee - representative from ACRES to share more about our project and hopefully collaborate.
Ms Edwina was very kind to us, she showed us around their site and shared with us more about what ACRES does and believe in.
I took this chance to also interview her so as to assist in my content curation.
However since ACRES could not provide us with any sort of funding, we approached Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) instead. After much discussion, we managed to collaborate with them.
VOlunteer Training at the zoo
On 16 July 2019, we had our volunteers training conducted by Mr Haniman -representative from WRS at the zoo. A total of 17 of us were there for a 2 hour training. We learnt more in depth on the different illegal wildlife trade items as well as wildlife that is native to Singapore
GL sharing during flex week
On 18 July 2019, Myra and I shared more about our Guided Learning project to year ones that were interested in this module as well as staff from Temasek Polytechnic. We shared about the whole process of the project as well as some learning points.
