Primary Research

A poll was done and sent out to the staff and students of Temasek Polytechnic on Singapore's Wildlife. The main purpose behind this poll was to gain a rough idea on the current knowledge our target audience has. This would allow me to choose topics that would be more relevant to them. We had a total of 104 responses, in which 98.1% of them are aware that there are wildlife in Singapore, however more than 50% of them are still unaware on how these wildlife actually affects us.

These results brought to my attention that many of us are still not well educated in this area

2)Site Observation

Different organisations all came together for this event, the Festival Of Biodiversity, where they shared their aims and efforts in trying to conserve the Biodiverisity in Singapore. Many booths had a range of posters and specimens for the public to observe. The volunteers were very well trained and they were engaging. They came up to us to tell us more about their booth and even gave us some freebies. I remembered one booth even had a simple game which allowed us to learn more about the wildlife in Singapore while playing.

Ms Edwina lee

"Singapore is involved mainly because we intercept the trading of illegal wildlife. Since Singapore is a port, many of these illegal wildlife are stopped over at Singapore and this is how we are involved because most of the time we catch these goods and crush it."
